Abstract:
(EN) A method of calibrating a micro electro-mechanical device in the form of an ink ejection nozzle having an actuating arm that is caused to move an ink displacing paddle when heat inducing electric current is passed through the actuating arm and having also a movement sensor associated with the actuating arm. The method comprises the steps of passing a series of current pulses of successively increasing duration tp through the actuating arm over a time period t, detecting for a predetermined level of movement of the actuating arm within a predetermined time window tw, and calibrating the device for subsequent actuation by a current pulse having a duration tp sufficient to produce the predetermined level of movement within the predetermined time window tw.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'étalonner un dispositif micro-électo-mécanique constitué d'une buse de jet d'encre comprenant un bras de commande qui entraîne le déplacement d'un élément de déplacement d'encre lorsqu'un courant électrique produisant de la chaleur passe dans le bras de commande, et comprenant en outre un détecteur de mouvement associé au bras de commande. Ce procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: on fait passer une série d'impulsions électriques d'une durée (tp) de plus en plus longue dans le bras de commande pendant un intervalle (t) de temps donné, on détecte un degré prédéterminé de mouvement du bras de commande à l'intérieur d'une fenêtre (tw) temporelle donnée, et on étalonne le dispositif de manière qu'il soit commandé par une impulsion électrique d'une durée (tp) suffisante pour produire le degré de mouvement requis à l'intérieur de la fenêtre (tw) temporelle donnée.
