Abstract:
(EN) An asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) based very-high-bit-rate digital subscriber line (VDSL) system for connecting a subscriber between different data service providers includes an ATM network (24) connected to data service providers DSP (16, 18, 20). A host digital terminal HDT (22) is connected to the ATM network (24) by an ATM permanent virtual circuits PVCs (28, 30, 32). Each of the ATM PVCs (28, 30, 32) is associated with a correponding one of the DSP (16, 18, 20). The ATM PVCs (28, 30, 32) connect the HDT (22) to the DSPs (16, 18, 20). The HDT (22) and the DSPs (16, 18, 20) communicate data signals on the ATM PVCs (28, 30, 32) through the ATM network (24). A customer provided equipment (CPE) (42) device is connected to the HDT (22) by a VDSL PVC (44). The CPE device (42) and the HDT (22) communicate data signals on the VDSL PVC (44). A subscriber personal computer (48, 54, 56, 58) is connected to the CPE device (42) for communicating data signals with the CPE device. The personal computer (48, 54, 56, 58) is operable to generate a channel signal corresponding to a selected one of the DSP (16, 18, 20). The HDT (22), in response to the channel signal, connected to the ATM PVC (28, 30, 32) associated with the selected DSP with VDSL PVC (44) to establish a system PVC connecting the selected DSP with the personal computer. The selected DSP and the personal computer (48, 54, 56, 58) communicate the data signals on the system PVC.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système de ligne d'abonné numérique à très haut débit (VDSL) à mode transfert asynchrone (ATM). Ce système permet de connecter un abonné à différents fournisseurs de services de données, et comprend un réseau ATM (24) connecté aux fournisseurs de services de données (DSP) (16, 18, 20). Un terminal numérique hôte (HDT) (22) est connecté au réseau ATM (24) au moyen de circuits virtuels permanents (CVP) (28, 30, 32) à mode ATM. Chacun desdits CVP ATM (28, 30, 32) est associé à un DSP correspondant. Les CVP ATM (28, 30, 32) connectent le HDT (22) aux DSP (16, 18, 20). Le HDT (22) et les DSP (16, 18 20) échangent des signaux de données sur les CVP ATM (28, 30, 32) par l'intermédiaire du réseau ATM (24). Un dispositif d'équipement client (CPE) (42) est connecté au HDT (22) par un CVP VDSL (44). Le dispositif CPE (42) et le HDT (22) échangent des signaux de données sur le CVP VDSL (44). Un ordinateur personnel d'abonné (48, 54, 56, 58) est connecté au dispositif CPE (42) et échange des signaux de données avec ce dispositif. L'ordinateur personnel (48, 54, 56, 58) permet de produire un signal de canal correspondant à un DSP (16, 18, 20) choisi. En réponse au signal de canal, le HDT (22) connecte les CVP ATM (28, 30, 32) associés au DSP choisi au CVP VDSL (44), d'où la formation d'un CVP de système connectant le DSP choisi à l'ordinateur personnel. Le DSP choisi et l'ordinateur personnel (48, 54, 56, 58) échangent des signaux de données sur ledit CVP de système.
