(EN)Disclosed is a method of enhancing the therapeutic effect of radiation in a host being treated for cancer including coadministering the radiation and an orally dosed camptothecin derivative to the host being treated for cancer. Also disclosed is a method of enhancing the therapeutic effect of radiation in a host being treated for cancer including orally dosing the host being treated for cancer with a camptothecin derivative; and administering radiation at a point when a serum concentration of the camptothecin derivative in the host being treated for cancer reaches about 50 % or more of the maximum concentration achieved by the oral dose.
(FR)L'invention porte sur une méthode permettant d'améliorer l'effet thérapeutique des radiations chez un sujet soumis à un traitement contre le cancer. Cette méthode consiste à administrer conjointement les radiations et une dose orale d'un dérivé de camptothécine au sujet soumis au traitement contre le cancer. L'invention concerne également une méthode permettant d'améliorer l'effet thérapeutique des radiations chez un sujet soumis à un traitement contre le cancer, par administration d'une dose orale d'un dérivé de camptothécine; et par administration de radiations jusqu'à ce que la concentration sérique du dérivé de camptothécine atteigne chez ce sujet au moins la moitié de la concentration maximale obtenue avec la dose orale.
