(EN)The invention relates to a method for synthesizing polyvinylamine (PVA)- type polymers from a vinylformamide monomer at a low temperature. According to the invention, polymerization starts at 0 °C, is initiated by an original redox and azoic catalyst combination and is carried out at a substantially normal pressure.The polymerisation is conducted in water and is followed by direct hydrolysis. A cationic PVA is obtained directly in the form of a powder with a high molecular weight. It is also possible to operate with an emulsion at an initiation temperature of approximately 15 %. The PVA can be used as flocculating and coagulating agents in the paper industry, water treatment industry, oil industry, parapetrolic industry and the like.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse à basse température des polymères de type PVA (polyvinylamine) à partir du monomère vinylformamide. La polymérisation selon l'invention démarre à environ 0 °C, est initiée par une combinaison originale de catalyseur redox et azoïque et est effectuée sous pression sensiblement normale. La polymérisation est menée dans l'eau et est suivie d'une hydrolyse directe. On obtient ainsi directement un PVA cationique en poudre de haut poids moléculaire. On peut aussi opérer en émulsion à une température d'initiation de 15 °C environ. Application des PVA comme floculants et coagulants dans l'industrie du papier, du traitement des eaux, du pétrole et parapétrolière, et analogues.
