(EN)A catalytic structure is formed by first partially embedding discrete, non-conductive particles (12) into the surface (14) of an aluminum substrate (16). Nodules (18) of a catalyst metal are then electrodeposited onto the surface between the embedded particles. The non-conductive particles control the distribution of the electrodeposited nodules. The aluminum substrate may be anodized after embedding the particles and the particles themselves may possess catalytic activity thereby providing a dual catalyst structure.
(FR)L'invention porte sur la structure d'un catalyseur obtenue: en noyant des particules séparées non conductrices dans la surface d'un substrat (16); en déposant par électrodéposition des nodules (18) d'un métal catalyseur entre les particules non conductrices qui assurent la répartition des nodules: et facultativement en anodisant le substrat après la mise en place des particules. Lesdites particules peuvent elles-mêmes posséder une activité catalytique, ce qui donne alors une structure à deux catalyseurs.
