Abstract

An interactive electronic instructional system for enabling information to be effectively deployed to workers and students to receive immediate feedback. Structure is provided for implementation of the system environment utilizing existing computer and communication systems to enable students to proceed in lockstep or at their own pace through exercises and quizzes, responding electronically to questions asked, the teacher being able to receive the responses, and to interpret a readout, in histogram or other graphic display form, of student responses. In a preferred embodiment, a central computer using an IBM compatible system is employed, together with a plurality of student computers which range from simple devices to full fledged personal computers communicating over a wireless LAN using thin client technology. Optical peripheral hardware, such as VCRs or other recording/reproducing devices, may be used to provide lessons to students in association with the computer network.

L'invention concerne un système éducatif électronique interactif permettant de déployer les informations de manière efficace aux travailleurs et étudiants afin de leur assurer un retour immédiat. La structure sert à réaliser l'environnement du système et les système de communication et informatiques existants sont utilisés pour permettre aux étudiants d'apprendre selon des échelons fixes ou à leur rythme en faisant des exercices et des examens et de répondre par voie électronique aux questions posées. Leur professeur est en mesure de recevoir les réponses et de proposer un affichage des réponses soumises par les étudiants sous forme de diagramme en bâtons ou toute autre forme graphique. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, un ordinateur central utilisant un système compatible IBM est exploité accompagné d'une pluralité d'ordinateurs d'étudiants qui vont du simple ordinateur aux PC les plus complexes communiquant via un réseau local sans fil grâce à la technologie du client maigre. Un matériel périphérique optique, notamment un magnétoscope à cassettes ou d'autres dispositifs d'enregistrements/reproduction peut convenir à l'apprentissage des étudiants associé à un réseau informatique.
