Disclosed is a fiber optic filter that includes a central core (19), a ring core (20) concentric with the central core (19), an inner cladding region (21) of refractive index ni, and a cladding layer (22) of refractive index nc surrounding the ring core (20). The maximum refractive index n1 of the central core (19) and the maximum refractive index n2 of the ring core (20), are greater than nc and n1. At least at one wavelengths, power transfers between the two cores at (19 and 20). At least a portion of the filter (10) is wound around a reel (18) which determines the attenuation.

L'invention concerne un filtre à fibres optiques comprenant un coeur central (19), un coeur annulaire (20) concentrique au coeur central (19), une zone de gainage interne (21) à indice de réfraction ni et une couche de gainage (22) à indice de réfraction nc entourant le coeur annulaire (20). L'indice de réfraction maximum n1 du coeur central (19) et l'indice de réfraction maximum n2 du coeur annulaire (20) sont supérieurs à nc et n1. Au moins à une certaine longueur d'onde, l'énergie est transférée entre les deux coeurs (19, 20). Une partie au moins du filtre (10) est enroulée autour d'une bobine (18) déterminant l'atténuation.
