Methods, assays, and components are described in which biological samples can be rapidly and sensitively analyzed for the presence of species associated with neurodegenerative disease. Techniques and components are provided for diagnosis of disease, as well as for screening of candidate drugs for treatment of neurodegenerative disease. The techniques are simple, extremely sensitive, and utilize readily-available components. Binding species, capable of binding a neurodegenerative disease aggregate-forming or fibril-forming species, are fastened to surfaces of electrodes and surfaces of particles, or provided free in solution, to bind fibril-forming species and/or be involved in aggregation.

L'invention concerne des techniques, des analyses, et des composants dans lesquels des échantillons biologiques peuvent être rapidement et efficacement analysés, afin de détecter la présence d'espèces associées à des maladies neurodégénératives. Ces techniques et ces composants permettent de diagnostiquer une maladie et de cribler des médicaments candidats au traitement des maladies neurodégénératives. Les techniques sont simples, extrêmement efficaces, et utilisent des composants rapidement disponibles. Des espèces de liaison, capables de se lier à des espèces formant des fibrilles ou des agrégats associés à des maladies neurodégénératives, sont fixées aux surfaces d'espèces formant des électrodes et/ou sont impliquées dans une agrégation.
