Abstract

An enhanced controller for an air conditioning system (10) incorporating mechanical cooling equipment and an economizer, the enhanced controller including circuits for producing signals indicative of commanded changes in temperature of air admitted into the air conditioned space and of a non-temperature parameter, such as carbon dioxide concentration, of air within the space. The signals are supplied to a logic circuit (40) which produces a ventilation damper control signal based on which of the temperature and non-temperature parameters requires greater change. Freeze protection, and maximum and minimum damper position circuits override the basic damper control signal to avoid excessively low space temperatures and to provide air exchange limits.

Ce module de commande perfectionné d'un système de conditionnement d'air (10) comprenant un matériel de refroidissement mécanique, ainsi qu'un économiseur, comporte des circuits de production de signaux indiquant des changements commandés, dans la température de l'air admis dans l'espace à air conditionné, et un paramètre non relatif à la température, tel que la teneur en dioxyde de carbone, dans l'air de l'espace. Les signaux sont fournis à un circuit logique (40), lequel produit un signal de commande de registre de ventilation, d'après les paramètres relatifs à la température et autres, indiquant la nécessité d'un changement plus important. Des circuits de protection contre le gel et de mise en position maximale ou minimale du registre sont prioritaires sur le signal de commande de base du registre, de manière à éviter des températures excessivement basses dans l'espace et constituer des limites au changement d'air.
