The disclosure relates to a tripod stand for supporting equipment such as a TV camera or the like comprising a mounting (10) for the equipment having a central axis and three telescopic legs (17, 18) extending from the mounting, the legs having head ends (40) pivotally attached to the mounting at locations equi-spaced around said central axis of the mounting to allow the legs to fold together in a closed position and outwardly to an erect position in which they diverge in tripod form from the mounting, and foot ends (50, 51) to engage the ground or other surface on wich the stand is to be used. Each leg comprises a plurality of slidably engaged interlocking channel section members (17, 18, 19) facing outwardly of said axis to extend and retract with respect to one another. One of said members (17) is being pivotally attached to the mounting to swing between said folded and erect positions and each of the further members having menas (35, 45, 48) to lock the member in any position of extension/retraction with respect to the adjacent member nearest said mounting to vary the stand height.

La présente invention concerne un trépied destiné à être utilisé pour supporter un appareil tel qu'une caméra de télévision ou autre, ce trépied comprenant une plate-forme (10) pour l'appareil ayant un axe central et trois pieds télescopiques (17, 18) qui partent de ladite plate-forme. Les pieds comportent des parties de tête (40) qui sont fixées pivotantes à la plate-forme à des endroits équidistants autour de l'axe central de la plate-forme pour permettre à ces pieds d'être pliés ensemble en position fermée et d'être sortis en position ouverte dans laquelle ils divergent de la plate-forme pour former un trépied, et des parties de pied (50, 51) prévues pour être en contact avec le sol ou tout autre surface sur laquelle le trépied doit être utilisé. Chaque pied comprend une pluralité de segments (17, 18, 19) profilés emboîtés capables de coulisser qui sont orientés vers l'extérieur par rapport à l'axe pour sortir ou rentrer de manière télescopique l'un par rapport à l'autre. Un des éléments (17) est attaché pivotant à la plate-forme pour basculer entre les positions fermée et ouverte, chacun des autres éléments comprenant des dispositifs (35, 45, 48) permettant de verrouiller l'élément dans n'importe quelle position d'extension/rétraction par rapport à l'élément adjacent le plus proche de ladite plate-forme pour modifier la hauteur du trépied.
