A method of repairing a flanged pipe joint (10) includes selecting a flexible sheet of material (18) and mounting a tube (20) through the selected material (18) to form a passageway therethrough. One end (21) of the mounted tube (20) is positioned against a flanged pipe joint and the flexible sheet of material (18) is wrapped around the pipe flange joint (10) and attached thereto. A coating (34), such as an epoxy polymer, is coated over the wrapped flexible material (18) extending over the flanged pipe joint (10) and adjacent pipe, which coating (34) is cured while any liquid leaking from the flanged pipe joint (10) escapes through the tube (20). Once the coating (34) is cured, the tube (20) can be plugged by either removing the capped tube or injecting a material (37) to seal the tube. The tube (20) also has an end member (21) shaped to fit over a flanged joint (10) for positioning the pipe for drainage of material leaking from the flanged joint (10).

La présente invention concerne un procédé de réparation de joint (10) de tuyau à brides consistant à sélectionner une feuille flexible de matériau (18) et à monter un tube (20) traversant le matériau sélectionné (18) pour former un passage. L'une des extrémités (21) du tube monté (20) est placée sur un joint de tuyau à brides, la feuille de matériau flexible (18) étant enveloppée autour du joint de tuyau à brides (10) auquel elle est fixée. Un revêtement (34), tel qu'un polymère époxy par exemple, est appliqué sur le matériau flexible enroulé (18) qui s'étend sur le joint de tuyau à brides (10) et sur le tuyau adjacent. Ce revêtement (34) est cuit et tout liquide fuyant du joint de tuyau à brides (10) s'échappe à travers le tube (20). Lorsque le revêtement (34) est cuit, on peut raccorder le tube (20) soit en retirant le tube fermé, soit en injectant un produit (37) pour souder le tube. Ce tube (20) comporte également un élément d'extrémité (21) formé pour s'insérer dans un joint à brides (10), ce qui permet de positionner le tuyau en vue de l'évacuation des matières s'écoulant du joint à brides (10).
