A shell and tube type water-cooled EGR cooler capable of increasing an efficiency of heat exchange between exhaust gas and cooling water, wherein a plurality of spiral projection lines are formed on the inner peripheral surfaces of tubes passing through plates and spiral wire material is closely fitted into the tubes, a bonnet located on an exhaust gas inlet side is formed in a bell mouth shape of which the bore increases gradually toward the flow direction of the exhaust gas; a flat box-shaped shell and tube type water-cooled EGR cooler, wherein a bonnet (6A) on an exhaust gas inlet side is formed in a bell mouth shape, and a truncated-chevron guide plate (21) is disposed in the bonnet and a round bar (22) is disposed at the intermediate position of each guide plate.

L'invention se rapporte à un refroidisseur EGR refroidi par eau, du type à calandre, qui permet d'accroître l'efficacité d'échange thermique entre les gaz d'échappement et l'eau de refroidissement. Ce refroidisseur comporte une pluralité de lignes de protubérance en spirale qui sont formées sur les surfaces périphériques internes des tubes traversant les plaques et un matériau en fil spiralé est ajusté à l'intérieur desdits tubes. Un couvercle est disposé du côté de l'admission des gaz d'échappement au niveau d'une ouverture en forme de cloche formée par un alésage à dimension croissant progressivement dans la direction d'écoulement du gaz d'échappement. L'invention concerne également un refroidisseur EGR refroidi par eau, du type à calandre en forme de boite plate, dans lequel un couvercle (6A) disposé du côté de l'admission du gaz d'échappement possède une ouverture en forme de cloche, une plaque-guide (21) à chevrons tronqués est placée dans le couvercle et une barre ronde (22) est disposée en position intermédiaire de chaque plaque guide.
