Abstract

An expansion-compression engine is disclosed for performing the function of a combustion engine, compressor, supercharger or pump. The engine consists of at least one unit comprising a casing (5) in the shape of a torus sector, spanning some 60°, closed by end covers (15, 15') at both ends of the torus sector inside which reciprocates a piston (1) firmly connected to a piston shaft (3). The piston shaft (3) is strongly attached to an arm (11) that is coupled to a crank (14) of a rotating crankshaft (13) by a connecting rod (12) pivotally connected at its extremities to the outer end of the arm (11) and to the crank (14). The end covers (15, 15') comprise valves (6) necessary for operation of the engine as a compressor, supercharger or pump. When implemented as a combustion engine, the end covers also feature fuel supply and ignition elements.

L'invention concerne un moteur à compression-dilatation conçu en tant que moteur à combustion, compresseur, compresseur d'alimentation ou pompe. Le moteur comporte au moins un élément comprenant un logement (5) de forme de secteur torique, s'étendant de quelque 60 degrés, fermé par des caches (15, 15') aux deux extrémités du secteur torique, à l'intérieur duquel un piston (1) effectue un mouvement alternatif, fermement relié à un arbre (3). Ledit arbre (3) est solidement fixé à un bras (11) couplé à une manivelle (14) d'un vilebrequin (13) rotatif par une bielle (12) reliée pivotante, à ses extrémités, à l'extrémité extérieure du bras (11) et à la manivelle (14). Les caches (15, 15') comportent des soupapes nécessaires au fonctionnement du moteur en tant que compresseur, compresseur d'alimentation ou pompe. Mis en oeuvre dans un moteur à combustion, les caches sont également des éléments d'alimentation en carburant et d'allumage.
