Abstract

A single seater snowmobile type recreational vehicle (10) and a steering assembly for such a vehicle is described herein. The recreational vehicle includes a longitudinal frame (12), a suspension (20) mounted to a rear portion of the frame, an endless track (18) rotatably mounted to the suspension, an engine mounted to the frame and associated to the endless track to selectively rotate the endless track about the suspension thereby allowing displacement of the vehicle. The recreational vehicle also includes a steering assembly (14) provided with a handlebar portion (36) mounted to the frame and pivoting about a first pivot axis (56), a fork portion mounted to the frame and pivoting about a second pivot axis (87), a direction bar (44) having a proximate end linked to the handlebar portion and a distal end linked to the fork portion, the direction bar being offset from the first and second pivot axis. A rotation of the handlebar portion thereby causes a rotation of the fork portion. The direction bar therefore allows the first and second pivot axis to be longitudinally spaced apart. The fork portion has a distal end configured and sized to receive a single ski.

Cette invention se rapporte à un véhicule récréatif (10) du type motoneige à un seul occupant, ainsi qu'à une direction pour un tel véhicule. Ce véhicule récréatif comprend un châssis longitudinal (12), une suspension (20) montée sur la partie arrière du châssis, une chenille (18) montée rotative sur la suspension, un moteur monté dans le châssis et associé à la chenille afin de la mettre sélectivement en rotation autour de la suspension, en vue de permettre le déplacement du véhicule. Ce véhicule récréatif comprend également une direction (14) pourvue d'une partie guidon (36) montée sur le châssis et pivotant autour d'un premier axe de pivot (56), une partie fourche montée sur le châssis et pivotant autour d'un second axe de pivot (87), d'une barre de direction (44) présentant une extrémité proximale reliée à la partie guidon et une extrémité distale reliée à la partie fourche, cette barre de direction étant décalée par rapport au premier et au second axe de pivot. Une rotation de la partie guidon entraîne une rotation de la partie fourche. La barre de direction permet ainsi de maintenir longitudinalement distants le premier et le second axe de pivot. La partie fourche possède une extrémité distale configurée et dimensionnée pour recevoir un monoski.
