Abstract

An automated beverage brewing system includes a liquid storage tank (14) and a metering chamber. The metering chamber (16) is at least partially submerged beneath a standing level of liquid in the storage tank (14). The chamber includes a sealable liquid (12) inlet port (20) cummunicaitng with the interior of the storage tank beneath the standing level of liquid. The chamber also includes a liquid outlet port (23) and an apeture (22) that receives compressed air, wherein the compressed air forces a predetermined amount of liquid (12) from the liquid output port (23) of the chamber (16) for use in preparing a brewed beverage. A pump (31) provides the compressed air and a controller (40) monitors a pressure signal value indicative of the air pressure in the metering chamber (16). The controller (40) commands the pump (31) on to commence flow of the predetermined amount of liquid (12) from the metering chamber (16). The controller then commands the pump (31) off several seconds after detecting a drop in air pressure within the chamber (16), indicating that the predetermined amount of liquid (12) has been delivered to the brewing chamber (16). The chamber is then vented to ambient pressure, which opens the sealable liquid inlet port (20) and refills the chamber (16).

La présente invention concerne un système automatisé d'infusion de boissons comportant un réservoir de stockage (14) et une chambre de dosage (16). La chambre de dosage (16) est au moins en partie submergée sous un niveau permanent d liquide dans le réservoir de stockage (14). La chambre comporte un orifice d'entrée (20) de liquide (12) obturable communiquant avec l'intérieur du réservoir de stockage sous le niveau permanent de liquide. La chambre comporte également une orifice de sortie (23) et une ouverture (22) d'admission d'air comprimé, dans lequel l'air comprimé force une quantité prédéterminée de liquide (12) à partir de l'orifice de sortie (23) de liquide de la chambre (16) à être utilisée dans la préparation d'une boisson infusée. Une pompe (31) assure une alimentation en air comprimé et une unité de contrôle (40) contrôle un signal de valeur de pression représentant le niveau de pression dans la chambre de dosage (16). L'unité de contrôle (40) active la pompe (31) pour permettre l'écoulement d'une quantité prédéterminée de liquide (12) à partir de la chambre de dosage (16). Ensuite l'unité de contrôle désactive la pompe (31) quelques secondes après la détection d'une baisse de pression d'air au sein de la chambre (16), indiquant que la quantité prédéterminée de liquide (12) a été débitée vers la chambre d'infusion. La chambre (16) est ensuite ventilée à la pression ambiante, ce qui permet ainsi d'ouvrir l'orifice obturable d'entrée (20) de liquide et de remplir la chambre (16).
