A method (200) and communications network (300) is provided that directly routes a call from a calling party (318) to a called mobile party (306) using an IP network (308). More specifically, the method (200) includes the step of determining (204) at the IP network (308) as to whether the called mobile party (306) is currently roaming outside a home mobile network (314a). In response to an affirmative determination, an address of a destination mobile network (314b) currently occupied by the called mobile party (306) is obtained (210) at the IP network (308), and the call between the calling party (318) and the called mobile party (306) is connected using the IP network (308) and the destination mobile network (314b) while bypassing the home mobile network (314a). In response to a negative determination, an address of the home mobile network (314a) is obtained at the IP network (308), and the call between the calling party (318) and the called mobile party (306) is connected using the IP network (308) and the home mobile network (314a).

L'invention concerne un procédé (200) et un réseau de communications (300) servant à acheminer directement un appel provenant d'un appelant (318) et destiné à un appelé mobile (306) au moyen d'un réseau IP (308). Le procédé (200) consiste notamment à déterminer (204) au niveau du réseau IP (308) si l'appelé mobile (306) se trouve en itinérance en dehors d'un réseau mobile d'origine (314a). En cas de réponse positive, une adresse d'un réseau mobile destinataire (314b) occupée en ce moment par l'appelé mobile (306) est obtenue (210) auprès du réseau IP (308), et l'appel entre l'appelant (318) et l'appelé mobile (306) est établi à travers le réseau IP (308) et le réseau mobile de destination (314b), sans passer par le réseau mobile d'origine (314a). En cas de réponse négative, une adresse du réseau mobile d'origine (314a) est obtenue auprès du réseau IP (308), et l'appel entre l'appelant (318) et l'appelé mobile (306) est établi à travers le réseau IP (308) et le réseau mobile d'origine (314a).
