A reverse link modulator (100) modulates the incoming data sequence for the I and Q channels of a wireless device such that the resulting spreading sequence never undergoes a transition through the origin. Consequently, the modulator has a reduced peak-to-average ratio and provides an improved battery life.

L'invention porte sur un modulateur (100) de liaisons inverses modulant les séquences de données entrantes des canaux I et Q d'un dispositif sans fil de manière à ce que la séquence d'étalement résultante ne puisse jamais subir une transition passant par l'origine. Le modulateur présente de ce fait un rapport de puissances pic/moyenne réduit et confère aux batteries une durée de vie plus longue.
