Abstract

An interactive display system comprises a white board (10) which communicates with a PC (12). A projector (14) receives signals from the PC (12) which are translated into corresponding projection image which is projected on to the white board (10). The image projected on to the white board (10) is the same as that shown on a computer screen (28). By using an electronic pen (16) the position of which can be detected electronically by means of a plurality of wires embedded beneath the surface of the white board (10) and using methods already known in the art, the electronic pen can function in the same way as a computer mouse. The image projected on to the white board (10) may also be manipulated by means of a remote control device (18), which uses infra red communication to transmit signals to a transporder (20) built within the white board (10).

Ce système d'affichage interactif comprend un tableau blanc (10) en communication avec un ordinateur personnel (12). Un projecteur (14) reçoit des signaux émanant de l'ordinateur (12) traduits en image de projection correspondante projetée sur le tableau blanc (10). Cette image projetée est la même que celle que l'on voit sur l'écran de l'ordinateur (28). On utilise un crayon électronique (16) dont la position peut être détectée électroniquement grâce à plusieurs fils enfouis sous la surface du tableau blanc (10). On fait appel à des techniques déjà connues pour faire fonctionner ce crayon comme une souris d'ordinateur. Il est également possible d'agir sur l'image projetée sur le tableau blanc (10) au moyen d'une télécommande (18) fonctionnant sur le principe de la communication par infrarouge pour transmettre des signaux à un transpondeur (20) présent dans le tableau blanc (10).
