Method for joining two cylindrical objects, preferably under water, with jump joint, flange joint or lap joint, without the use of divers or welding, with a joining plate in the form of a sleeve, or the flange or the pipe ends are clamped together till a tight friction connection with a device that uses the expansion properties of water or other liquid or a solid material by heating, freezing or a chemical reaction inside an annular closed volume inside a mounting sleeve to provide radial and evenly distributed clamping forces, and where deformation and clamping forces can be determined and regulated.

L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet d'assembler deux objets cylindriques, de préférence sous l'eau, au moyen d'un joint à ressaut, d'un joint à collerette ou d'un joint chevauché, sans faire appel à des plongeurs et sans soudure, avec une plaque d'assemblage en forme de manchon. On presse l'une contre l'autre les extrémités de la collerette ou du tuyau de façon à obtenir une connexion par friction serrée. A cet effet, on utilise un dispositif qui se sert des propriétés de dilatation que présente l'eau, un autre liquide ou un matériau solide lors de son chauffage, de sa congélation ou lors d'une réaction chimique, à l'intérieur d'un volume fermé annulaire formé dans un manchon de montage, pour générer des forces de serrage radiales à répartition uniforme. La déformation et les forces de serrage peuvent être déterminées et régulées.
