Abstract
(EN)
This invention relates to a seal (10) for protecting an end of an idler roll (15) against contaminants. The seal includes a fastener (30) engageable with the end of the idler roll and an integral first sealing member (40) molded onto the fastener and extending radially outward from the fastener. A second sealing member (50) is integrated with the first sealing member. The first sealing member and the second sealing member (50) project into frictional engagement with the end of the idler roll. When assembled with the end of the idler roll, the first sealing member and the sealing member are biased into frictional engagement with the end of the idler roll, thus protecting the end of the idler roll from contaminants in wet environments.

L'invention concerne un joint d'étanchéité (10) conçu pour protéger l'extrémité d'un rouleau intermédiaire (15) contre les contaminants. Ledit joint comprend une attache (30) venant en contact avec l'extrémité d'un rouleau itnermédiaire et un premier élément d'étanchéité intégré (40) moulé sur l'attache et s'étendant radialement vers l'extérieur de cette dernière. Un deuxième élément d'étanchéité (50) est intégré au premier élément d'étanchéité. Les premier et deuxième éléments d'étanchéité (50) saillent et viennent en contact à frottement avec l'extrémité du rouleau intermédiaire. Lorsqu'ils sont assemblés avec l'extrémité du rouleau intermédiaire, les premier et deuxième éléments d'étanchéité sont sollicités de sorte qu'ils viennent en contact à frottement avec l'extrémité du rouleau intermédiaire, ce qui protège ladite extrémité du rouleau contre les contaminant dans les milieux humides.
