Abstract

The invention concerns a helical spring made from an aluminium wire whereof the yield strength exceeds 350 MPa and preferably 400 MPa, and more particularly a spring having an endurance limit of at least 96 h under alternating compression at 50 % of its initial height at the rate of 100 cycles/mn, produced from an aluminium alloy wire with a cross-section ranging between 2 and 3 mm, said wire having a yield strength R0.2 > 400 MPa and a shear modulus G > 20 GPa, and preferably 25 GPa. The inventive springs are useful for making mattresses with light corrosion-resistant and non-magnetic springs, and for motor vehicle suspension elements.

L'invention a pour objet un ressort hélicoïdal réalisé à partir d'un fil en aluminium dont la limite d'élasticité dépasse 350 MPa et préférentiellement 400 MPa., et plus particulièrement un ressort présentant une résistance à la fatigue d'au moins 96 h sous une compression alternée à 50% de sa hauteur initiale à raison de 100 cycles/mn, réalisé à partir d'un fil en alliage d'aluminium de section comprise entre 2 et 3 mm, ce fil ayant une limite d'élasticité R0,2$m(g)400 MPa et un module de Coulomb G$m(g)20 GPa, et de préférence $m(g)25 GPa. Les ressorts selon l'invention peuvent être utilisés pour la fabrication de matelas à ressorts légers, résistants à la corrosion et amagnétiques, ainsi que pour des éléments de suspension de véhicules.
