A method is provided which refurbishes a Rankine cycle vapor generator (500) initially having a plurality of Rankine heaters (570) for supporting a Rankine cycle subsystem. The method removes at least one of the Rankine heaters (570), and replaces the at least one removed Rankine heater (570) with a non-Rankine heater for a Kalina cycle subsystem. The vapor generator (500) comprises a first plurality of tubes (410) for receiving a first working fluid, and a second plurality of tubes (420) for receiving a second working fluid. The first plurality of tubes (410) are directed along a first path exposed to heat from a heat source (570) to increase the temperature of the first working fluid within the first plurality of tubes (410). The second plurality of tubes (420) are directed along a second path exposed to heat from the heat source (570) to increase the temperature of the second working fluid with the second plurality of tubes (420). The first plurality of tubes (410) supply the heated first working fluid to components of a Rankine cycle subsystem and the second plurality of tubes (420) supply the heated second working fluid to components of a Kalina cycle subsystem.

L'invention porte sur un procédé qui remet à neuf un générateur (500) de vapeur à cycle de Rankine possédant à l'origine une pluralité de générateurs de chaleurs (570) de Rankine en vue de supporter un sous-système à cycle de Rankine. Ce procédé permet de retirer au moins un des générateurs de chaleur (570) de Rankine et de le remplacer par un générateur autre que celui de type Rankine pour un sous-système à cycle de Kalina. Le générateur (500) de vapeur comprend une pluralité de tubes (410) destinés à recevoir un premier fluide de travail, et une seconde pluralité de tubes (420) destinés à recevoir un second fluide de travail. La première pluralité de tubes (410) est dirigée le long d'une première voie exposée à la chaleur provenant d'une source (570) de façon à augmenter la température du premier fluide de travail dans la première pluralité de tubes (410).
