A polyester monofilament of the core-sheath structure for screen gauze, characterized in that the sheath is made of a polyester which has a degree of coloration through heating at 175 °C for 1 hour (APHA) of 30 or lower and is obtained through copolymerization with a polyalkylene oxide having a number-average molecular weight of 300 to 4,000 used in an amount of 2 to 10 wt.% based on the polyester, and in which the mechanical loss tangent (tan$g(d)) thereof measured at a frequency of 110 Hz has a peak temperature (Tmax) which is 97 to 120 °C and is lower by at least 10 °C than that of the core, and that the core/sheath areal ratio is 60/40 to 90/10. The monofilament is completely free from scum generation during weaving, has satisfactory suitability for gauze formation, and gives a high-mesh screen gauze excellent in dimensional stability and adhesion to photosensitive resins.

Cette invention concerne un monofilament de polyester à structure à âme gainée pour treillis, caractérisé en ce que la gaine est faite d'un polyester dont le degré de coloration suite à un chauffage à 175 °C pendant une heure (APHA) est de 30 ou moins et qui est obtenu par copolymérisation avec un oxyde de polyakylène présentant un poids moléculaire moyen en nombre de 200 à 4000 utilisé à raison de 2 à 10 % en poids du polyester. Dans ce monofilament de polyester, la tangente de perte mécanique (tan$g(d)), mesurée à une fréquence de 110 Hz, a une température maxi (Tmax) comprise entre 97 et 120 °C, ce qui est inférieur d'au moins 10 °C à celle de l'âme, le rapport de surface âme/gaine se situant entre 60/40 et 90/10. Le monofilament ne libère aucune écume pendant le tissage, convient pour la fabrication de treillis et permet d'obtenir un treillis à mailles serrées présentant d'excellentes caractéristiques en termes de stabilité dimensionnelle et d'adhérence à des résines photosensibles.
