Leucine-rich motifs appear in a large number of proteins that perform critical biological functions, such as cell adhesion and signal transduction. Zlrr3 is a new member of the human 'leucine-rich repeat superfamily', which may play a role in neural differentiation and development.

Des motifs riches en leucine apparaissent dans un nombre important de protéines remplissant des fonctions biologiques critiques, telles que l'adhésion cellulaire et la transduction de signaux.
