Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of desulfurizing a fossil fuel comprising organosulfur compounds. The methods comprises the steps of (1) contacting the fossil fuel with an aqueous phase comprising a microorganism which catalyzes the oxidative cleavage of carbon-sulfur bonds and sufficient nutrients for growth and/or reproduction of the microorganism, thereby forming an aqueous phase/fossil fuel mixture; (2) maintaining the aqueous phase/fossil fuel mixture under conditions which are suitable for the desulfurization of the fossil fuel, thereby producing a desulfurized fossil fuel; and (3) separating the desulfurized fossil fuel from the aqueous phase.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour biodésulfurer un combustible fossile comprenant des composés organo-sulfurés. Le procédé consiste en ce qui suit: (1) mettre le combustible fossile en contact avec une phase aqueuse comprenant un micro-organisme qui catalyse le clivage par oxydation des liaisons carbone-soufre ainsi que des nutriments en quantités suffisantes pour assurer la croissance et/ou la reproduction du micro-organisme, ce qui a pour effet de former un mélange de phase aqueuse / de combustible fossile; (2) maintenir le mélange de phase aqueuse / de combustible fossile dans des conditions appropriées pour la désulfuration du combustible fossile, et ce afin d'obtenir un combustible fossile désulfuré et; (3) séparer le combustible fossile désulfuré de la phase aqueuse.
