A method for reducing the level of hydrogen sulfide in water containing sulfur-reducing bacteria and hydrogen sulfide-metabolizing bacteria by addition of an aqueous solution of metallic nitrogen oxides and small particles of water-insoluble polycyclic quinones.

Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire le niveau d'hydrogène sulfuré dans de l'eau renfermant des bactéries réductrices du soufre et de bactéries métabolisant l'hydrogène sulfuré par adjonction d'une solution aqueuse d'oxydes d'azote métallique et de petites particules de quinones polycycliques hydro-insolubles.
