Abstract

An apparatus for separating water contaminants from a fuel. Contaminated fuel is drawn from the bottom of a tank (30) into a separator. The water stays at the bottom of the separator and is drained off. Fuel is forced upwardly from which any droplets of water flow along coalescer plates (16, 57) and fall to the bottom of the separator. The fuel is pased through a filter (25) and then directed back to the tank.

L'invention concerne un appareil pour séparer les contaminants aqueux d'un carburant. Le carburant contaminé est aspiré depuis le fond d'un réservoir (30) dans un séparateur. L'eau reste au fond du séparateur et est drainée vers l'extérieur. On force le carburant à remonter, et l'eau en sort sous la forme de gouttes qui s'écoulent le long des plaques du collecteur (16, 57) pour tomber sur le fond du séparateur. On fait passer le carburant à travers un filtre (25) puis on le renvoie dans le réservoir.
