A process for optimizing resin distribution during VARTM fabrication of a fiber-reinforced resin structure including a core body (24), having a core upper surface (46) extending between a first (50) and a second (52) edge, and at least one ply (22) disposed upon the core upper surface (46). A resin infusion port (36) is formed along the first edge (50) and a vacuum application port (28) is formed along the second edge (52). Longitudinal (56) and lateral (58) resin distribution grooves are formed along the core upper surface (46). Resin dispensed at the resin infusion port (36) flows through the longitudinal (56) and lateral (58) resin distribution gooves due to the applied vacuum between the resin infusion port (36) and the vacuum application port (28) to wet the finer-reinforced ply at substantially equal ply resin wetting rates.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour optimiser la répartition de la résine pendant la fabrication par moulage par injection de résine, assisté par dépression (VARTM), d'une structure en résine renforcée comprenant un noyau (24) présentant une surface supérieure (46) s'étendant entre un premier (50) et un deuxième (52) bord, et au moins une couche (22) placée sur ladite surface supérieure (46) du noyau. Un orifice d'injection de résine (36) est formé le long du premier bord (50) et un orifice d'application de vide (28) est formé le long du deuxième bord (52). Des rainures longitudinales (56) et latérales (58) de répartition de résine sont formées le long de la surface supérieure (46) du noyau. La résine introduite dans l'orifice d'injection de résine (36) s'écoule dans les rainures longitudinales (56) et latérales (58) de répartition de résine, sous l'effet du vide entre l'orifice d'injection de résine (36) et l'orifice d'application de vide (28), de manière que la couche renforcée de fibres soit mouillée, à des vitesses de mouillage de la résine de la couche sensiblement égales.
