An electronic cam type rotary cutter control method wherein the rotary cutter is driven by a servomotor (3) and controlled during long-size and short-size cutting operations according to different trapezoidal speeds based on an electronic cam curve, the method comprising the step of constructing a positional loop over the entire range on the basis of the electronic cam curve, the electronic cam curve being such that it becomes a cubic function as a positional pattern (27) in a non-cutting interval and a quadratic function as a speed pattern (26), the use of the electronic cam curve making it possible to control the rotary cutter in an automatic compliance using the same algorithm whether it is during the long-size cutting or the short-size cutting or during the line speed change. Particularly, there is no need for deceleration during short-size cutting while making such cutting possible, thereby improving productivity.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de commande d'outil rotatif de coupe, à came électronique, dans lequel l'outil rotatif de coupe est entraîné à l'aide d'un servomoteur (3) et commandé, lors d'opérations de coupes de tailles longue et courte, selon différentes vitesses trapézoïdales basées sur une courbe de came électronique. Ce procédé consiste à construire une boucle de position sur le domaine entier de la courbe de came électronique, cette courbe étant telle qu'elle devient une fonction cubique en tant que tracé de position (27), dans un intervalle sans coupe, et une fonction quadratique en tant que tracé de vitesse (26).L'usage de cette courbe rend possible la commande de l'outil de découpe dans un mode automatique, avec le même algorithme, que ce soit en coupe de taille longue ou de taille courte, ou en changement de vitesse de ligne. En particulier, il n'est pas nécessaire d'effectuer un ralentissement de la ligne pendant des coupes de taille courte lorsqu'on souhaite faire de telles coupes, ce qui permet d'améliorer la productivité.
