The bending procedure calls for a restraining force to be exerted on the profiled metal element (10) in a direction substantially orthogonal to that of the forces causing the bend, at the same time as the said forces are being exerted, in order to limit any deformation of the cross-sectional shape of the element (10). The associated apparatus includes means for exerting on the elemnt (10) a restraining force in a direction substantially orthogonal to that of the forces causing the bending.

L'invention concerne une procédure de cintrage. Selon cette procédure, une force de retenue est exercée sur l'élément métallique profilé (10) dans une direction sensiblement orthogonale par rapport au sens d'application des forces provoquant ce cintrage et en même temps que ces dernières afin de réduire toute déformation de la section transversale de l'élément (10). L'appareil associé comprend des moyens pour exercer une force de retenue sur l'élément (10) dans un sens sensiblement orthogonal par rapport à la direction des forces provoquant le cintrage.
