The present invention relates to a demodulator for angle modulated signals having a carrier frequency. The demodulator comprises: a demodulation channel provided with a local oscillator and with a channel output for supplying angle modulated signals; a frequency error detection means coupled to the channel output for deriving a local oscillator frequency error signal; and a frequency error correction means having two inputs and an output for providing the frequency error corrected angle modulated signals, one input whereof is coupled to the channel output, whereas its other input is coupled to the frequency error detection means; whereby the frequency error correction means are embodied as complex plane rotation means for providing complex angle modulated signals by complex plane rotation of a representation of said angle modulated signals and said local oscillator frequency error signals. Advantageously an easy implementable demodulator for Soft Decision Information demodulation schemes is provided.

L'invention porte sur un démodulateur de signaux à modulation angulaire possédant une fréquence de porteuse. Le démodulateur comprend: un canal de démodulation pourvu d'un oscillateur local et d'une sortie de canal en vue d'envoyer des signaux à modulation angulaire; un détecteur d'erreur de fréquence couplé à la sortie du canal pour extraire un signal d'erreur de fréquence de l'oscillateur local; et un dispositif de correction d'erreur de fréquence possédant deux entrées et une sortie de façon à générer des signaux à modulation angulaire et à erreur de fréquence corrigée, une entrée étant couplée à la sortie du canal, et l'autre entrée au détecteur d'erreur de fréquence. Le dispositif de correction d'erreur de fréquence est réalisé sous forme d'un organe de rotation plan complexe destiné à générer des signaux à modulation angulaire complexes par rotation plane complexe d'une représentation de ces signaux à modulation angulaire et des signaux d'erreur de fréquence de l'oscillateur local. Le démodulateur de cette invention peut facilement être mis en oeuvre pour des schémas de démodulation d'informations à décision pondérée.
