A material of the positive plate for a lithium secondary cell is expressed by a general formula Li1+xMn2-xO4+y (0$m(F)x$m(F)0.08, -0.05$m(F)y$m(F)0.02). The Mn average oxidation number M of the whole material is between 3.540 and 3.560, and the Mn average oxidation number m of the oversize fraction 5-weight% components satisfies the inequalities M-0.02$m(F)m$m(F)M. Thus a material for a lithium secondary cell which uses a LiMn2O4 spinel compound as the material of its positive plate, well maintains its initial capacity and high charging rate, and has a good charging cycle characteristic realized by finding the relationship between the Mn valence number (oxidation number) of the material and the cycle characteristic is obtained.

L'invention concerne une matière de plaque positive d'accumulateur au lithium, cette matière étant représentée par la formule générale: Li1+xMn2-xO4+y (0 $m(F) x $m(F) 0,08, -0,05 $m(F) y $m(F) 0,02) Le nombre d'oxydation M moyen de Mn de la matière entière est compris entre 3,540 et 3,560 et le nombre d'oxydation m moyen de Mn de la fraction de dimension supérieure de composants de 5 % en poids correspond à l'inégalité M-0,02 $m(F) m $m(F) M. Ainsi, l'invention permet d'obtenir une matière d'accumulateur au lithium contenant un composé de spinelle LiMn2O4 comme matière de sa plaque positive, conservant sa capacité initiale et son taux de charge élevé, et possédant de bonnes caractéristiques de cycle de charge grâce à l'établissement de la relation entre le nombre de valence Mn (nombre d'oxydation) de la matière et les caractéristiques du cycle.
