A method for managing the hydrocarbon fumes in the tank of a motor vehicle fitted with an internal combustion engine that is provided with an activated carbon collector, a bleed for said collector that communicates with an admission element of the engine, a probe placed on the exhaust of the engine and an electronic injection calculator that can determine the flow of fuel that is to be injected (Qem). The flow of fuel (Qep) from the bleed of the collector is calculated and the set value for a flow of fuel from the tank is calculated by subtracting the flow of fuel (Qep) from the bleed of the collector from the flow of fuel (Qem) that is to be injected. The admission of the flow of fuel from the tank is regulated in such a way that it is equal to the set value and a flow of fuel that is equal to the set value of the flow of fuel calculated by the calculator is injected into the engine.

Procédé de gestion des vapeurs d'hydrocarbures dans un réservoir de véhicule à moteur à combustion interne pourvu d'un récupérateur à charbons actifs, d'une purge du récupérateur en communication avec un organe d'admission du moteur, d'une sonde de richesse disposée à l'échappement du moteur et d'un calculateur d'injection électronique capable de déterminer le débit de carburant Qem devant être injecté. On calcule le débit de carburant Qep en provenance de la purge du récupérateur, et on calcule un débit de carburant de consigne en provenance du réservoir en retranchant le débit de carburant Qep en provenance de la purge du récupérateur du débit de carburant Qem devant être injecté. On commande l'admission d'un débit de carburant en provenance du réservoir égal au débit de consigne, et on injecte dans le moteur un débit de carburant égal au débit de carburant de consigne déterminé par le calculateur.
