Abstract

The invention relates to a device in a silencer unit (1) of an automotive vehicle, for suppressing unwanted noise originating from an exhaust gas flow from the vehicle engine, said silencer unit (1) being terminated by an end pipe (6), through which said exhaust gas flow is conveyed to the surroundings. The invention is characterised by the end pipe (6) comprising at least one perforated section (6a) having a predetermined extension (L2) in the longitudinal direction of the end pipe (6), and being positioned downstream of a point (L3) along the end pipe (6) where there is substantially no turbulence in the exhaust flow. Through the invention, an improved silencer unit is provided, with which predetermined requirements for comfort-directed low-frequency suppression of the exhaust flow noise, as well as statutory requirements for high-frequency absorption of the noise, are fulfilled.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'une unité silencieux (1) d'un véhicule automobile, permettant de supprimer les bruits indésirables engendrés par des gaz d'échappement issus du moteur. Cette unité silencieux (1) est terminée par un tube terminal (6) par lequel le flux de gaz d'échappement est cédé à l'environnement. L'invention est caractérisée en ce que le tube terminal (6) comprend au moins une section perforée (6a) ayant une longueur prédéterminée (L2) dans le sens longitudinal du tube terminal (6) et positionnée en aval d'un point (L3) situé sur le tube terminal (6) là où le flux de gaz d'échappement est sensiblement dépourvu de turbulences. L'invention permet d'obtenir une unité silencieux améliorée satisfaisant aux exigences liées à la suppression des basses fréquences du bruit engendré par le flux des gaz d'échappement aux fins de confort, ainsi qu'aux obligations légales d'absorption des hautes fréquences du bruit.
