Borane derivatives represented by general formula (1) and organic electroluminescents, (wherein R1 to R8 and Z2 are each independently hydrogen, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbyl, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, substituted amino, substituted boryl, alkoxy or aryloxy; X, Y and Z1 are each independently saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbyl, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, substituted amino, alkoxy or aryloxy; or alternatively Z1 and Z2 may be united to form a fused ring; and n is an integer of 1 to 3, with the provisos that Z1s may be different from each other when n is 2 or above and that cases where n is 1; X, Y and R2 are each methyl; and R8 is hydrogen or substituted boryl and those where n is 3; and Z1 is methyl are excepted). The borane derivatives are suitable for luminescent materials by virtue of their high luminous efficiencies in solid states, and useful for electrophotography and as photoelectronic functional materials including nonlinear optical materials and conductive materials, and the use of the derivatives brings about organic EL devices characterized by low power consumption and high efficiency.

La présente invention concerne des dérivés de borane représentés par la formule générale (1) et des composés organiques électroluminescents. Dans cette formule, R1 à R8 et Z2 sont chacun indépendamment hydrogène, hydrocarbyle saturé ou insaturé, groupe aromatique, groupe hétérocyclique, amino substitué, boryle substitué, alcoxy ou aryloxy; X, Y et Z sont chacun indépendamment hydrocarbyle saturé ou insaturé, groupe aromatique, groupe hétérocyclique, amino substitué, alcoxy ou aryloxy; ou bien, dans une autre réalisation, Z1 et Z2 peuvent former ensemble un cycle fusionné; 'n' est un entier valant de 1 à 3. Toutefois, les Z1 peuvent être différents les uns des autres lorsque 'n' vaut 2 ou plus. En outre, lorsque 'n' vaut 1, aucun des X, Y et R2 ne doit être méthyle et R8 ne doit pas être hydrogène ou boryle substitué, et, lorsque 'n' vaut 3, Z1 ne doit pas être méthyle. Ces dérivés de borane, qui constituent des matériaux luminescents intéressants en raison de leur grand rendement lumineux à l'état solide, conviennent particulièrement comme matériaux fonctionnels dans les domaines de l'électrophotographie et de la photoélectronique. L'utilisation de ces dérivés permet la réalisation de dispositifs élctroluminescents organiques se distinguant par une faible consommation d'énergie et un rendement élevé.
