A linear, nano-scale-order amorphous carbon tube provided with an extended-period, stable occlusion power for various kinds of gases and being stable in shape; and a novel industrial production method for the carbon tube with high purity, high yield and high mass-productivity. The amorphous carbon tube is produced by exciting, in the presence of a catalyst consisting of metal powder and/or metal salt, thermally decomposing resin having decomposition temperatures of 200 to 900°C, or by heat-treating at temperatures up to 3000°C a carbon material containing reactive -C$m(Z)C- and/or =C=.

La présente invention concerne un tube de carbone amorphe linéaire de l'ordre du nanométre présentant une énergie d'occlusion stable et prolongée pour différentes sortes de gaz, ainsi qu'une forme stable. En outre, cette invention concerne un nouveau procédé de production industrielle de tube de carbone à grande pureté, avec haut rendement et productivité en masse élevée. En outre, on produit ce tube de carbone amorphe en excitant, en présence d'un catalyseur constitué de poudre métallique et/ou de sel métallique, une résine à décomposition thermique présentant des températures de décomposition comprises entre 200 et 900 °C, ou en traitant thermiquement à des températures s'élevant jusqu'à 3000 °C un matériau de carbone contenant -C$m(Z)C- et/ou =C= réactif.
