Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Airbagmodul, das im Dachbereich eines Kraftfahrzeuges vor dem Insassen angeordnet ist und mindestens ein Modulgehäuse und einen Gassack aufweist, dem ein Gasgenerator zugeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist das Modulgehäuse (1) so angeordnet, daß dessen Öffnung (2) für den Austritt des Gassacks (21) im Crashfall in Richtung der Windschutzscheibe (3) weist, daß der Gassack (21) zwei Abschnitte (4, 5) aufweist, von denen der erste (4) ein sich in der ersten Phase der Entfaltung von oben nach unten entlang der Windschutzscheibe (3) entfaltender Abschnitt ist, und der zweite (5) sich anschließende ein sich in Richtung der Körperpartie des Insassen (25) unterhalb seines Kopfes entfaltender abgewinkelter Abschnitt darstellt, wobei der erste Abschnitt (4) im entfalteten Zustand eine geringere Ausdehnung in Richtung des Insassen (25) aufweist als der zweite Abschnitt (5). Das Airbagmodul weist den Vorteil auf, daß der Gassack nach der Entfaltung den Raum vor dem Insassen zumindest weitestgehend ausfüllt und er weist eine Entfaltungstrajektorie auf, die den Gassack bei der Entfaltung ohne Gefahr auch für einen weit vorn sitzenden Insassen aus der Position über dem Insassen in eine Position vor dem Insassen bringt.

The invention relates to an airbag module which is arranged in the roof area of a motor vehicle in front of the occupants, and which comprises at least one module housing and an airbag to which a gas generator is assigned. According to the invention, the module housing (1) is arranged in such a way that the opening (2) thereof for deploying the airbag (21) in the case of a crash points toward the windshield (3). In addition, the airbag (21) has two sections (4, 5) of which the first (4) is a section which, in the first phase of deployment, deploys from top to bottom along the windshield (3), and the second (5) depicts a joined section which is 90° offset and which deploys in a direction toward the occupant's (25) body below the head. When in a deployed state, the first section (4) has a lower degree of expansion in a direction toward the occupant (25) than that of the second section (5). The airbag module is advantageous in that the airbag, after deployment, fills up the space in front of the occupant at least to a large extent, and in that the airbag has a deployment trajectory with which, during unfolding, the airbag is deployed, also for a forward most seated occupant, from the position above the occupant and into a position located in front of the occupant without placing the occupant in danger.

L'invention concerne un module sac gonflable, logé dans la zone plafond d'un véhicule automobile devant l'occupant et présentant au moins une enveloppe de module et une poche de gaz à laquelle est associé un générateur de gaz. Selon l'invention, l'enveloppe de module (1) est disposée de telle manière que son ouverture (2) pour la sortie de la poche de gaz (21) en cas de choc est orientée vers le pare-brise (3). La poche de gaz (21) présente deux segments (4, 5) dont le premier (4) se déploie dans la première phase de déploiement du haut vers le bas le long du pare-brise (3) et dont le deuxième (5) qui s'y raccorde est coudé et se déploie en direction de la partie du corps de l'occupant (25) située sous sa tête. A l'état déployé, le premier segment (4) est moins étendu en direction de l'occupant (25) que le deuxième segment (5). Le module sac gonflable selon l'invention présente ainsi l'avantage que la poche de gaz remplit au moins très largement l'espace devant l'occupant après son déploiement et qu'elle présente une trajectoire de déploiement qui amène, lors du déploiement, la poche de gaz de la position au-dessus de l'occupant à une position devant l'occupant, sans danger même pour un occupant assis très en avant.
