An extruder such as a reclaim extruder (10) includes a feed section (13) with a throat (15) into which a force feeder (32) is positioned to compact and feed reclaim material at a higher and more productive rate. The force feeder (32) includes three side-by-side augers (64, 65, 66) pointed at the extruder screw axis (17). An AC variable frequency drive motor (41) drives a double sided cog belt (44) in serpentine fashion around respective pulleys or sheaves (43, 46, 50, 52, 55, 57) for the augers (64, 65, 66). Two of the augers (64, 66) are of one hand rotated in one direction (68, 69), and one (65) of opposite hand rotated in the opposite direction (70). The pulleys or sheaves (43, 46, 50, 52, 55, 57) are of different size so that each auger (64, 65, 66) rotates progressively faster moving down stream of the extruder screw (17). Each auger (64, 65, 66) is positioned in a closely fitting compression tube (72, 73, 74) each provided with an inlet opening (80). The force feeder (32) is conveniently angularly positioned through the wall (30) of a collection box (12) between a hopper (11) and the throat (15) of the extruder (10).

Selon cette invention, une extrudeuse telle qu'une extrudeuse pour matières de récupération (10) comprend une partie d'alimentation (13) avec un col (15) dans lequel est disposé un dispositif d'alimentation forcée (32) qui sert à compacter et à alimenter des matières de récupération à une vitesse utile plus ou moins élevée. Le dispositif d'alimentation forcée (32) comprend trois vis d'alimentation côte à côte (64, 65, 66) pointées sur l'axe (17) de la vis sans fin de l'extrudeuse. Un moteur d'entraînement c.a. à fréquence variable (41) entraîne une courroie dentée double face (44) disposée en serpentin autour des poulies ou des réas respectifs (43, 46, 50, 52, 55, 57) des vis d'alimentation (64, 65, 66). Deux de ces vis d'alimentation (64, 66) tournent d'un côté dans une direction donnée (68, 69), et une vis d'alimentation (65), de l'autre côté, tourne dans une direction opposée (70). Les poulies ou réas (43, 46, 50, 52, 55, 57) sont de taille différente, ce qui permet à chaque vis d'alimentation (64, 65, 66) de tourner graduellement de plus en plus vite en se déplaçant en aval de la vis sans fin (17) de l'extrudeuse. Chaque vis d'alimentation (64, 65, 66) est placée dans un tube de compression ajusté (72, 73, 74) pourvu d'une ouverture d'entrée (80). Le dispositif d'alimentation forcée (32) est commodément disposé sous un certain angle et passe à travers la paroi (30) d'une boîte de collecte (12), entre une trémie (11) et le col (15) de l'extrudeuse (10).
