In a network having first and second addressing zones (Z1, Z2) a name and address server (DNS1) in the first zone (Z1) receiving a request (REQ1) to supply an address coming from the first zone (Z1), concerning the name (N) of a machine (20) of the second zone (Z2), sends a first packet (IP1) containing at least said name (N), via an interface (INT), to an address (AD1, 2) of the second zone (Z2) assigned to a management unit (22), the interface (INT) receives a second packet (IP1) comprising, as address of origin, an address (AD2, 2) of the second zone assigned to the receiver machine (20), and transmits said package (IP2) to the server (DNS1) by replacing the address of origin with an address (AD3, 1) of the first zone forming part of a list (P) of addresses allocated to the second zone (Z2); and the server (DNS1) sends back the latter address (AD3, 1) in reply (REP) to the request (REQ1) to supply an address.

Dans un réseau ayant des première et seconde zones d'adressage (Z1, Z2), un serveur de noms et d'adresses (DNS1) de la première zone (Z1), recevant une requête (REQ1) de fourniture d'adresse en provenance de la première zone (Z1), relativement au nom (N) d'une machine (20) de la seconde zone (Z2), envoie un premier paquet (IP1) contenant au moins ce nom (N), via une interface (INT), vers une adresse (AD1,2) de la seconde zone (Z2) affectée à une unité de gestion (22); l'interface (INT) reçoit un second paquet (IP2) comportant, en tant qu'adresse d'origine, une adresse (AD2,2) de la seconde zone affectée à la machine destinataire (20), et retransmet ce paquet (IP2) au serveur (DNS1) en remplaçant l'adresse d'origine par une adresse (AD3,1) de la première zone faisant partie d'une liste (P) d'adresses allouée à la seconde zone (Z2); et le serveur (DNS1) retourne cette dernière adresse (AD3,1) en réponse (REP) à la requête (REQ1) de fourniture d'adresse.
