Abstract

A telecummunications system and method is disclosed for providing for terminal mobility between H.323 networks belonging to the same H.323 system. When an H.323 mobile terminal moves to a new or visitor H.323 network and attempts to register with the visitor H.323 network, the visitor H.323 network informs the home H.323 network to which the H.323 mobile terminal belongs about the move, using an H.225 Registration and Admission Control Signaling (RAS) message. In order to send such a location update RAS message to the home H.323 network, the visitor Gatekeeper determines the home Gatekeeper of the visiting H.323 mobile terminal. Thereafter, the RAS message is sent by the Gatekeeper of the visitor H.323 network to the Gatekeeper of the home H.323 network through routers and the LAN backbones of the H.323 networks of the H.323 system.

L'invention porte sur un système et un procédé de télécommmunications qui confère la mobilité à un terminal entre des réseaux H.323 appartenant au même système H.323. Lorsqu'un terminal mobile H.323 se déplace vers un nouveau réseau H.323 ou un réseau H.323 visiteur, ce dernier informe le réseau H.323 résident auquel appartient le terminal mobile H.323 de ce déplacement, au moyen d'un message H.225 de signalisation de commande d'enregistrement et d'accès (Registration and Admission Control Signaling) (RAS). Pour envoyer au réseau H.323 résident un tel message RAS de mise à jour de localisation, le garde-porte visiteur détermine le garde-porte résident du terminal mobile H.323 visiteur. Le message RAS est ensuite envoyé par le garde-porte du réseau H.323 visiteur au garde-porte du réseau H.323 résident par le biais de routeurs et d'épines dorsales locales des réseaux H.323 du système H.323.
