A relatively small inexpensive phased array antenna provided even if the number of radiators is increased to enhance the gain. The phased array antenna has a multilayer structure including layers where a large number of radiators (15), phase-shifting units (16) each for shifting the phase of a high-frequency signal transmitted/received by the corresponding radiator, and a distributing/synthesizing unit (14) are provided respectively. Signal lines (X1 to Xm) and scanning lines (Y1 to Yn) are arranged on a phase control layer (35) to connect the phase-shifting units in a matrix. Selecting units (12X, 12Y) matrix-drive the signal lines and the scanning lines to set a desired amount of phase shift for the phase-shifting unit located at the intersection. Switches (17S) for the phase-shifters (17) are provided all on a phase control layer.

L'invention porte sur une antenne à balayage électronique relativement petite et économique, même si le nombre de radiateurs est accru pour augmenter le gain. Ladite antenne présente une structure multicouche dont chacune des couches comporte un grand nombre de radiateurs (15), des unités de déphasage (16) décalant chacune la phase d'un signal à haute fréquence émis ou reçu par le radiateur correspondant, et une unité (14) de répartition/synthèse. Les lignes de signaux (X1 à Xm) et les lignes de balayage (Y1 à Yn) sont disposées sur une couche de commande de phase (35) de manière à grouper les unités de déphasage dans une matrice. Les unités de sélection (12X, 12Y) commandent par matrice les lignes de signaux et les lignes de balayage pour fixer la quantité désirée de déphasage pour l'unité de décalage située à l'intersection. Les commutateurs (17S) de déphaseurs (17) prévus, sont tous montés sur la couche de commande de phase.
