A backup memory managing technique for detecting unauthorized copying of data in a backup memory and imposes an appropriate penalty. A backup memory managing device has data storage means (10). The data storage means (10) judges whether or not parameter data which has been stored in a backup memory (3) is proper when created and updated parameter data is stored in the backup memory (3), overwrites the created and updated parameter data over the parameter data stored in the backup memory (3) if the parameter data stored is judged proper, and executes a predetermined special processing if the parameter data stored is judged improper. The special processing can be, for example, an imposition of a penalty in a game.

Technique de gestion de mémoire de sauvegarde qui permet de détecter la copie non autorisée de données dans une mémoire de sauvegarde et qui impose une pénalité appropriée. Un dispositif de gestion de mémoire de sauvegarde possède un moyen de stockage (10) de données. Ledit moyen de stockage (10) de données juge si oui ou non des données de paramètres qui ont été stockées dans une mémoire de sauvegarde (3) sont convenables lorsque des données de paramètres créées et mises à jour sont stockées dans la mémoire de sauvegarde (3), écrit les données de paramètres créées et mises à jour sur les données de paramètres stockées dans la mémoire de sauvegarde (3) si les données de paramètres stockées sont jugées convenables et exécute un traitement spécial prédéterminé si les données de paramètres stockées sont jugées impropres. Le traitement spécial peut être, par exemple, l'imposition d'une pénalité dans un jeu.
