A program selective execution device, data selective execution device and image display device display on a screen a selecting object formed by pasting a texture of a still or moving image showing the descriptions of an object of selection on each face of a 3-D cylindrical rotating body disposed in a 3-D virtual space; and a user rotates the selecting object by performing a specified rotation instruction operation, judges a face most squarely facing the viewpoint of the user when the user gives a specified selective instruction and selects an object of selection corresponding to that face. The above construction eliminates the need of downsizing each face according to the number of objects of selection, enhances visibility, provides to users an intuitive operational environment associative of an image of rolling a cylindrical rotating body.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'exécution sélectif de programme, un dispositif d'exécution sélectif de données et un dispositif d'affichage d'image. Sur un écran, un objet est formé en collant la texture d'une fixe ou en mouvement illustrant un objet sélectionné sur chaque face d'un corps cylindrique rotatif tridimensionnel, placé dans un espace virtuel tridimensionnel. Un utilisateur fait tourner l'objet sélectionné en exécutant une opération d'instruction de rotation spécifiée, évalue une face dudit objet lorsqu'il donne une instruction de sélection spécifiée, et sélectionne un objet correspondant à ladite face. L'invention supprime la nécessité de la taille de chaque face selon le nombre d'objets sélectionnés, améliore la visibilité et confère à l'utilisateur un environnement opérationnel intuitif associé à l'image d'un corps rotatif cylindrique.
