The disclosure relates to a mounting (11) for an optical apparatus (10) having an optical axis. The mounting has non-moving and moving components (16, 17) including a base and a support (18) for the optical apparatus which provide movement about one or more orthogonal axes and having damping means (15) between the moving and non-moving components for the or each axis. The mounting further having means to determine movement ($g(u) relative) of the damping means at the or each moving component as a measure of intended movement of the mounting, means to determine actual movement ($g(a) absolute) of the mounting and means (21) responsive to any difference detected between the intended and actual movements to apply a corrective movement to the optical apparatus.

L'invention concerne un support (11) pour un appareil optique (10) comportant un axe optique. Ce support comporte des éléments mobiles et non mobiles (16, 17) avec une base et un support (18) pour l'appareil optique pour assurer le mouvement autour d'un ou plusieurs axes orthogonaux. En outre, ce support comporte des moyens d'amortissement (15) entre lesdits éléments mobiles et non mobiles pour chaque axe. Ce support comporte également des moyens pour déterminer le mouvement ($g(u) relatif) des moyens d'amortissement au niveau de chaque élément mobile pour mesurer le mouvement prévu du support, et des moyens pour déterminer le mouvement réel ($g(a) absolu) du support et des moyens (21) agissant en réponse à une différence détectée entre les mouvements prévus et réels pour appliquer un mouvement de correction à l'appareil optique.
