Strains of genetically modified prokaryotic micro-organisms capable of expressing polypeptides having the enzyme activity of the enzymes uridine phosphorylase (UdP) and purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP) are described; the strains in question can be used, both in the form of whole cells and in the form of crude or purified extracts, to catalyse transglycosylation reactions between a donor nucleoside and an acceptor base with particularly high yields. The associated plasmid vectors are also described.

L'invention concerne des souches de micro-organismes procaryotes capables d'exprimer des polypeptides ayant l'activité enzymatique des enzymes uridine phosphorylase (UdP) et purine nucléoside phosphorylase (PNP); les souches en question peuvent être utilisées à la fois sous la forme de cellules entières et sous la forme d'extraits bruts ou purifiés, pour catalyser des réactions de transglycosylation entre un nucléoside donneur et une base acceptrice avec des rendements particulièrement élevés. Les plasmides vecteurs associés sont également décrits.
