Abstract

Describes a coating composition for the preparation of abrasion resistant coating that contains: (a) from 5 to 75 weight percent, based on the total weight of the coating composition, of silane monomer(s): (i) glycidoxy [(C1-C3)alkyl]tri(C1-C4)alkoxysilane; and (ii) tetra (C1-C6)alkoxysilane, the weight ratio of (i) to (ii) ranging from 0.5:1 to 100:1; (b) a catalytic amount of aqueous acidic alumina sol, the sol having particulate alumina of an average particle size of not more than 200 nanometers; (c) a solvating amount of organic solvent; (d) a leveling amount of nonionic surfactant; and (e) water in an amount sufficient to form hydrolysates of the silane monomers.

L'invention concerne une composition d'enduction destinée à la préparation d'enduits résistant à l'abrasion, cette composition contenant: (a) 5 à 75 % en poids, sur la base du poids total de la composition d'enduction, de monomères de silane: (i) un glycidoxy[(C1-C3)alkyl]tri(C1-C4)alcoxy-silane; et (ii) un tétra (C1-C6)alcoxysilane, le rapport en poids de (i) à (ii) étant compris entre 0,5 :1 et 100 :1; (b) une quantité catalytique d'un sol d'alumine acide aqueux, le sol contenant des particules d'alumine à granulométrie moyenne ne dépassant pas 200 nanomètres; (c) une quantité de solvatation d'un solvant organique; (d) une quantité d'égalisation d'un tensioactif non ionique; et (e) de l'eau en quantité suffisante pour former des hydrolysats des monomères de silane.
