A system and method for selectively transferring storable units (10), particularly artillery propellant charge units, between a storage space (18) and a location outside of the storage space, the system including a storage magazine (12) having a plurality of parallel, axially elongated chambers (20) opening at an end of the storage magazine, a shuttle (14) having a transfer mechanism tube (50) movable relative to the storage magazine between positions of axial alignment with each of the plurality of elongated chambers and the location outside of the storage space, and a feed mechanism to move the units between the transfer tube (50) and the elongated chambers (20). Where the elongated chambers (20) are respectively centered on Z axes with open ends (18) presented at intersecting X and Y axes perpendicular to the Z axes, the shuttle (14) is translatable in an X direction and supports the transfer tube (50) on a Z-axis for movement in a Y direction relative to the storage magazine so that a combination of shuttle translation on the X axis and movement of the transfer tube on the Y axis positions the transfer tube in axial alignment with the respective open ends of each of the plurality of cylindrical tubes. The feed mechanism moves the charge units in the Z direction between the respective elongated chambers (20) and the transfer tube (50). A conveyor aligned with a Z axis delivers charge units to and from the storage magazine and is positioned for transfer of charge units to and from the shuttle mounted transfer tube (50).

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé servant à transférer de manière sélective des unités stockables, notamment des unités de charge propulsive d'artillerie, entre un espace de stockage et un emplacement situé à l'extérieur de l'espace de stockage. Le système comporte un magasin de stockage équipé de plusieurs chambres parallèles allongées axialement qui s'ouvrent à une extrémité du magasin de stockage; une navette comportant un tube équipé d'un mécanisme de transfert pouvant être déplacé par rapport au magasin de stockage entre des positions d'alignement axial par rapport à chacune des chambres allongées et l'emplacement situé à l'extérieur de l'espace de stockage; et un mécanisme d'alimentation pour déplacer les unités entre le tube de transfert et les chambres allongées. Lorsque les chambres allongées sont respectivement centrées sur des axes Z, leurs extrémités ouvertes étant présentées à des axes X et Y qui se coupent et sont perpendiculaires aux axes Z, la navette peut opérer un mouvement de translation dans une direction X et soutient le tube de transfert dans l'axe Z pour le déplacer dans une direction Y par rapport au magasin de stockage, de sorte qu'un déplacement de navette dans l'axe X combiné à un déplacement du tube de transfert dans l'axe Y permet d'aligner axialement le tube de transfert par rapport aux extrémités ouvertes respectives de chacun des tubes cylindriques. Le mécanisme d'alimentation permet de déplacer les unités de charge dans la direction Z entre les chambres allongées respectives et le tube de transfert. Un transporteur aligné sur l'axe Z transporte des unités de charge vers le magasin de stockage et en provenance de celui-ci, et est positionné en vue de transférer des unités de charge vers le tube de transfert monté sur la navette et en provenance de celui-ci.
