Boat propeller transmission with a horizontal input shaft (1), a bevel gear set (3, 4a, 4b), a vertical intermediate shaft (5), an additional bevel gear set (30, 31, 32), and at least one horizontal propeller shaft. Between the bevel gear sets, a two-speed planetary gear set (9) is engaged, to provide two gear speeds in the same direction between the input shaft and the propeller shaft. A control unit (40) controls the shifting between the low and high gear speed. A sensor (42) senses the position of a gear selector (41). When the gear selector is in the reverse position, the control unit locks the planetary gear set in the high speed position, regardless of the engine speed.

Selon cette invention, une transmission d'hélice de bateau comprend un arbre d'entrée horizontal (1), un ensemble de roues coniques (3, 4a, 4b),un arbre vertical intermédiaire (5), un ensemble complémentaire de roues coniques (30, 31, 32) et au moins un arbre horizontal d'hélice. Un engrenage planétaire double (9) couplé entre les ensembles de roues coniques sert à assurer deux vitesses de rotation dans une même direction entre l'arbre d'entrée et l'arbre d'hélice. Une unité de commande (40) commande le changement de vitesses entre la vitesse inférieure et la vitesse supérieure. Un capteur (42) détecte la position d'un sélecteur de vitesse (41). Lorsque le sélecteur de vitesse est en position inversée, l'unité de commande bloque l'engrenage planétaire en position de vitesse supérieure, et ce indépendamment de la vitesse du moteur.
