Aluminum or aluminum alloy extended heat transfer surface is fabricated on ferrous metal tubes (12). The tubes (12), usually steel, are first coated with a layer (20) of a material compatible with aluminum welding. The coating (20) is usually aluminum or aluminum alloy. The fins (14, 16) are usually spiral fins (14, 16) and they are welded to the coating (20) by laser welding.

L'invention concerne la fabrication d'une surface d'échange thermique agrandie constituée d'aluminium ou d'un alliage en aluminium, laquelle surface est fixée sur des tuyaux de métal ferreux (12). On recouvre d'abord ces tuyaux (12), généralement constitués d'acier, d'une couche (20) de matière compatible avec un soudage d'aluminium. Le revêtement (20) est généralement constitué par de l'aluminium ou un alliage en aluminium. Les nervures (14, 16) sont généralement spiralées (14, 16) et soudées au revêtement (20) par soudage par faisceau laser.
