The use of the complexes of the compounds of general formula (I) with paramagnetic bi-trivalent metal ions selected from the group consisting of Fe(2+), Fe(3+), Cu(2+), Cr(3+), Gd(3+), Eu(3+), Dy(3+), Yb(3+) or Mn(2+), as well as the salts thereof with physiologically compatible organic bases selected from primary, secondary, tertiary amines or basic amino acids, or with inorganic bases whose cations are sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium or mixtures thereof. In formula (I) X-L-Y wherein: X is the residue of a polyaminopolycarboxylic ligand and the derivatives thereof, selected from the group consisting of: EDTA, DTPA, DOTA, DO3A, BOPTA; Y is the derivative of a bile acid selected from the group consisting of residues of cholic, chenodeoxycholic, deoxycholic, ursodeoxycholic, lithocholic acids, both as they are and functionalized at the positions having the hydroxy group as the reactive group; L is a chain linked at any position of X and the C-3, C-7, C-12 positions of Y, for the preparation of diagnostic formulations for the imaging of the blood system of the human and animal body, by means of nuclear magnetic resonance; novel compounds of general formula (I) and the diagnostic compositions containing them.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation de complexes des composés représentés par la formule générale (I) avec des ions métalliques bi-trivalents paramagnétiques sélectionnés dans le groupe formé par Fe(2+), Fe(3+), Cu(2+), Cr(3+), Gd(3+), Eu(3+), Dy(3+), Yb(3+) ou Mn(2+), ainsi que des sels de ces derniers, avec des bases organiques compatibles du point de vue physiologique sélectionnées dans le groupe formé par des amines primaires, secondaires, tertiaires ou des acides aminés de base, ou avec des bases inorganiques dont les cations sont composés de sodium, de potassium, de magnésium de calcium ou de leurs mélanges. Dans la formule (I) : X-L-Y (I) X représente un résidu d'un ligand polyaminopolycarboxylique et ses dérivés, X étant sélectionné dans le groupe formé par: EDTA, DTPA, DOTA, DO3A, BOPTA; Y représente le dérivé d'un acide biliaire sélectionné dans le groupe formé par des résidus d'acides cholique, chénodésoxycholique, désoxycholique, ursodésoxycholique, lithocholique, tels qu'ils se présentent et sont fonctionnalisés aux positions où le groupe hydroxy constitue le groupe réactif; L représente une chaîne liée à n'importe quelle position de X et aux positions C-3, C-7, C-12 de Y. Les complexes selon l'invention sont destinés à la préparation de formulations permettant de former des images du système sanguin du corps humain ou animal par résonance magnétique nucléaire. L'invention concerne également de nouveaux composés représentés par la formule générale (I), ainsi que des compositions de diagnostic les comprenant.
